Esports is growing across the globe both in viewership and revenue. Over the last year, audience numbers were most affected by growth markets in the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, & Latin America. As robust as the Esports audience has been, there is still an economic gap that exists. There are those that have access to high speed internet and adequate gaming equipment and those that don't. Thus creating a situation where some competitors have a disadvantage before they even touch a device.
The area where the gap is most noticeable is in schools. Schools in underserved communities do not have the same resources as other more prominent schools. Students participating in Esports in these environments are not given a fair chance to succeed. Thryve aims to level the playing field! Thryve Labz will help build the infrastructure in underserved schools to give students who want to compete in Esports a fair chance to succeed, regardless of their economic status.
A nonprofit orgnization building gaming hubs in communities. Thryve will be partnering with them to build esports labs in the schools in underserved communities as well as providing the infrastructure so that the kids attending the school can be seen and recruited to play esports in college if they so choose.
